CORNERSTONE SYSTEMS WELCOMES NEW EMPLOYEE
Memphis, Tenn., March 13, 2009 – Cornerstone Systems, a leading nationwide provider of solutions for transportation and logistics, announces the appointment of Mike Phillips as sales representative in Lincolnton, GA.
Mr. Phillips will provide intermodal, railcar, trucking, and logistics services to new clients as well as current customers.
“I feel like I have come full circle in joining the Cornerstone team”, said Phillips. “Many of the people I work with now are the same ones I worked with 19 years ago when I first started in the transportation industry. In fact, my first customer with Cornerstone was also my first customer many years ago”.
With the current economic climate, Phillips has seen a slowdown in the logistics industry, but remains positive about the future. “Much of my business is related to the housing industry. We move raw materials – paint and sheetrock – to the west coast. With the slowdown in construction out there, it’s affecting business now, but I’m optimistic that things will greatly improve in 2010.”
“I am extremely pleased that Mike has joined our team. I know from previous experience that Mike is a dedicated and knowledgeable sales person whose approach to his customers mirror’s our beliefs and values.” said Rick Rodell, chairman and CEO of Cornerstone Systems.
Cornerstone Systems offers a full complement of logistics services including intermodal, railcar & railcar consolidation, truck brokerage, on-site logistics, and warehousing & transloading services. Headed by a highly experienced executive team, Cornerstone continues to attain one of the highest growth rates in the transportation industry.
